These are our most commonly asked questions about our wedding flowers, of course get in touch if you question is not here.

When should I contact you?

Once you have decided a wedding date and venue for your ceremony, you should consider contacting us. We have had weddings booked two years in advance, and others urgently at three weeks. We do get booked up, so it is ideal to contact us as soon as possible.

I don't know anything about flowers?!

This is where we come in! We often get brides who say they have no idea, but usually they already have a pretty good idea of their likes and dislikes. For us it is actually easier if you are open minded with just a basic idea of colours and maybe the names of a few flowers; we love to have a loose brief to have freedom of creativity with the design. Can I do some of the flowers myself?

We can supply you with cut flowers in buckets for you to arrange yourself, and we loan glassware and containers. We can advise you on your choice of flowers and design, and deliver them directly to your venue on the day of your choosing. If you want to do it yourself, keep it simple and make sure you have enough time to do everything, ensuring you can relax on your big day.

What area do you cover?

We work primarily in Somerset and Dorset but are willing to travel further.

How does delivery work?

With most weddings we dress the venues the day before or the morning of the wedding. You decide what time and where you would like the bridal party flowers to be delivered.

What happens to the flowers afterwards?

It’s your wedding and the flowers are all yours after the day. We can have them arranged in containers that you can give as gifts or take away after your wedding. We come to the venue the day the next day to tidy up and retrieve the hired glassware.

What happens next?

Ideally we would like to arrange to meet at your venue, and discuss your options, ideas, inspiration. We can discuss the style of your dress and theme, bring any samples of colour, and any photographs of flowers that you love. If this is not possible or you are out of the country, we can of course do this by phone and email.  After this first meeting we will send your an initial quote for your consideration.

When do I pay?

We require a deposit with our Terms of Business to secure you wedding date, and then the full payment three weeks before your wedding date. Of course changes can happen to your quote after the deposit is accepted, we appreciate your ideas and guest numbers can change.

How much is it going to cost?

There is no simple answer to this. Start by looking at the prices toggle on the Weddings or Parties page to see how the total cost can be broken down. You can spend as little or as much as you would like; we are here to make sure that we create the look you desire. After our first meeting we will send your an initial quote for your consideration.

Do you charge VAT?

Fleur Provocateur Ltd does not charge VAT on private functions, which is a saving of 20%.

I have a limited budget, how can I save money?

We are here to help. While we would never advise cutting corners,  there are certain tricks and techniques to ensure your budget stretches as far as possible. For example, reusing arrangements from the ceremony for the reception. If your chosen flowers are going to be out of season and expensive we can suggest seasonal alternatives. Creating some of the arrangements yourself, we can supply the flowers. Additionally we don’t charge VAT.
