Wedding Flowers

It is the greatest privilege to be part of your wedding day. We love being there at the start of the process, working through your ideas and schemes to produce flowers which reflect your story on the big day. Between our flower expertise and your inspiration, we aim to create individual designs which exceed all your expectations. Whether you are looking for understated elegance, natural beauty or wild opulence, we would love to be part of your team.

We offer two services: bespoke design, or wedding packages. Please contact Caroline to arrange an informal chat, to discuss your aspirations, ideas and requirements.

Bespoke Design

Let’s Chat

You may have been recommended by the venue, or perhaps found us through Instagram. The next step is to send an email to check availability. It is really helpful to give a basic outline of your requirements, include the size of your bridal party, church and reception venue, and any of your initial ideas. To give  a starting point for costs, take a look at our price guide and look book.

Initial Meeting

This is perhaps one of the most enjoyable aspects. We meet either at the venue, or at my home, for overseas clients, I am happy to chat via facetime or skype. This is a collaboration between your aspirations and our expertise; I understand your personal style and dream for your big day. Based on our discussions, you will receive a quote and Terms of Business in order to secure the date.

Finer Details

From our initial meeting, we will develop the design further via telephone, email and subsequent meetings if time allows. I will personally liaise with the venue, prop hire companies, caterers and event planners. We have worked with many of the top suppliers in the South-West and beyond, so do take a look at our friends page if you are in need of recommendations.

The Big Day

While you are relaxing, getting ready and having a glass of fizz, we will be busy beavering away transforming your venue. I personally deliver your bouquets and buttonholes, making sure every flower is just perfect. The day after, we come in to clear up, but please do take as many flowers with you as can fit in the car!

Price Guide

We understand how important it is to start building a costing framework for your budget, and for many couples, this will be a deciding factor choosing your wedding florist. This guide is by no means completely extensive but gives a starting point for a rough approximation to the overall cost of your wedding flowers. We are really here to help, so do get in touch, and we can discuss a bespoke quote.

Our One Hour Radius

The tri-border area of Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire is awash with stunning wedding venues.  Many florists have a minimum spend, we do not. However, we do have this maximum traveling time of one hour to your wedding venue. We thought we would shed some light on the reasons for this stipulation.

It doesn’t make economic sense for you, the couple. Paying mileage for site-visits, delivery and set-up (usually over 2 or 3 days) and retrieval, ends up eating into your floral budget, which will be put to better use on your actual flower arrangements.

In an industry desperately trying to reduce its environmental footprint, through foam free designs and ethically sourced flowers, the fuel and carbon emissions for the many journeys (site visits, setup, collection) simply doesn’t sit well with our sustainable perspective.

Restricting our radius means we have availability to accept more enquiries at these venues, many of which we are on the recommended supplier list. We really do get to know them inside out; this ensures the highest quality of service for you on your big day.

There are other fantastic florists that will be more local to your wedding venue. We will recommend someone who is geographically more suitable. Similarly, if we are already committed for your date, we will suggest one of our nearby florist friends.

These are our most commonly asked questions about our wedding flowers, of course get in touch if you question is not here.

When should I contact you?
Once you have decided a wedding date and venue for your ceremony, you should consider contacting us. We have had weddings booked two years in advance, and others urgently at three weeks. We do get booked up, so it is ideal to contact us as soon as possible.
I don't know anything about flowers?!
This is where we come in! We often get brides who say they have no idea, but usually they already have a pretty good idea of their likes and dislikes. For us it is actually easier if you are open minded with just a basic idea of colours and maybe the names of a few flowers; we love to have a loose brief to have freedom of creativity with the design. A fabulous resource is Pinterest, just to get you started.
Can I do some of the flowers myself?
We can supply you with cut flowers in buckets for you to arrange yourself, and we loan glassware and containers. We can advise you on your choice of flowers and design, and deliver them directly to your venue on the day of your choosing. If you want to do it yourself, keep it simple and make sure you have enough time to do everything, ensuring you can relax on your big day.
What area do you cover?
We work within one hours radius of our workshop in Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.

How does delivery work?
With most weddings we dress the venues the day before or the morning of the wedding. You decide what time and where you would like the bridal party flowers to be delivered. The packages are for collection only unless previously arranged.

What happens to the flowers afterwards?
It’s your wedding and the flowers are all yours after the day. We can have them arranged in containers that you can give as gifts or take away after your wedding. We come to the venue the day the next day to tidy up and retrieve the hired glassware.
What happens next?
Ideally we would like to arrange to meet at your venue, and discuss your options, ideas, inspiration. We can discuss the style of your dress and theme, bring any samples of colour, and any photographs of flowers that you love. If this is not possible or you are out of the country, we can of course do this by phone and email.  After this first meeting we will send your an initial quote for your consideration.
When do I pay?
We require a deposit with our Terms of Business to secure you wedding date, and then the full payment four weeks before your wedding date. Of course changes can happen to your quote after the deposit is accepted, we appreciate your ideas and guest numbers can change.

How much is it going to cost?
There is no simple answer to this. Start by looking at the prices toggle on the Weddings or Parties page to see how the total cost can be broken down. You can spend as little or as much as you would like; we are here to make sure that we create the look you desire. After our first meeting we will send your an initial quote for your consideration.
Do you charge VAT?
Fleur Provocateur Ltd does not charge VAT on private functions, which is a saving of 20%.
I have a limited budget, how can I save money?
We are here to help. While we would never advise cutting corners,  there are certain tricks and techniques to ensure your budget stretches as far as possible. For example, reusing arrangements from the ceremony for the reception. If your chosen flowers are going to be out of season and expensive we can suggest seasonal alternatives. Creating some of the arrangements yourself, we can supply the flowers. Additionally we don’t charge VAT.
